Commissioning Process Commissioned Furniture

Initial Consultation

We prefer to start by visiting the client at the place where the piece will be located, to thoroughly assess and discuss the main areas of the project. This usually tends to be an informal discussion.

The initial consultation will include the gathering of information related to aesthetics, functional considerations, sizes, choice of materials, available budgets and delivery dates. This all leads to a greater understanding, giving you furniture that works perfectly for your home - a place you love for many years to come.

Our approach to this stage will vary according to whether the client prefers to work to an open brief or simply needs help in refining their own ideas. We are also more than happy to work with architects and interior designers.

The Design

The design process begins in the initial consultation.

Thereafter we will produce initial designs based on your cost. Usually two alternative designs will be offered. We may then visit you again or send the designs either digitally or in the mail. At this stage clients are encouraged to discuss any modifications or changes they wish to include or we may need to develop a third design based upon your reaction, before a final detailed proposal is submitted.

The Commission

Once we agree the design we can inform you of an exact cost of the work involved and an idea of when the piece will be ready for delivery. The Commission works are normally completed within 6 months of ordering.

We will keep the client fully informed throughout its realisation.

Please read our Terms and Conditions for Commission Work.
